Clinic Soccer Overview:

*Clinic Soccer is a great way to get to know those in your community and expose your child to the sport. The kids are learning basic soccer skills, teamwork and having fun while doing it. The soccer program will grow with your child, so they are ready for county when their time comes. Each year the field and goal size grows, a few more skills and rules are added, and even referees are added.

*In addition, it is an Anne Arundel County requirement that any individual involved with children complete a background check to insure their safety.  Because of this policy, anyone who wants to help out at practice must comply. This must be completed by all coaches and assistant coaches. I highly recommend parents that are thinking of helping when they are available to get one as well. It's $7 and good for 3 years, so you can help out any time in any SCYA sport and be covered. Once on this website, you can also check to see the status of yours, to ensure it doesn’t expire this year. Here is the website for more details and instructions on completing one:

*Also, it is highly recommended that anyone wishing to coach on a regular basis attend a free AA County coach’s clinic.  Although not required for clinic soccer, I highly encourage everyone to attend.  The next one is in March: https://www.aacounty.org/services-and-programs/coaches-certification-clinic

*Coaching clinic is easy and fun. Please note on your child's registration that you are interested. Remember the program cannot be successful without volunteers and parents like yourselves. We always need a lot of coaches to ensure we don’t have to turn kids away or overcrowd teams. There is some administrative work involved in coaching that you will be required to do, such as rescheduling games and keeping parents informed. If you are not strong in this area please have another parent assist in this very important area. We keep the roster at a small number, to ensure that each child gets proper playing time and each coach gets more one on one time.
