Welcome to the SCYA sideline Cheerleading
sideline cheer season will begin August 15th through Oct/November
time frame depending on football playoffs and championships.
The goal of our Cheer
Program is to build confidence, instill
teamwork on and off the field all while developing the skills of our
Our Cheerleaders will
cheer on the SCYA football teams at all home games. May be required to do
some away games depending on proximity to our home field and schedules.
Each squad will learn sideline cheers, stunts and a half time show. We
will also be learning a halftime cheer/dance routine to perform at the
Homecoming Game at Southern High School stadium.
Practice-Schedule to be determined but will be twice a week held at Southern
Middle School, either on the blacktop or football field. Once School is
in session we will move into the gymnasium. Girls are required to be on
time for practice in proper practice attire and footwear. Please no
jeans, dresses or sandals.
Each girl will receive
a skirt, shell, bloomers, pom-poms and two hair bows. The Skirt and Shell
must be returned in excellent condition. Each girl will be required to
have plain white shoes and white socks for all games. A white long sleeve
shirt and or white leggings may be worn under your child's uniform in the
Ages 3 – 14

SCYA is a 100%
volunteer organization and we are always looking for coaches, assistant coaches
and team moms. If you have a positive attitude and love to have fun we
would love you to join us!

“CheerNastics” is 4
week session on Tuesday and Thursdays, 4 – 5 pm, beginning July
3 at South County Rec Center
BOOM! Your round
off is on its way! CheerNastics Camp offers children the opportunity to
develop and refine their cheer tumbling skills. Classes will
focus on proper technique and execution of stunts, jumps and tumbling.
Throughout the camp we will focus on building confidence, instilling teamwork
and developing skills.
