Boys County Basketball
Registration is now OPEN and will close on February 24th
Our spring county level teams are for boy’s ages 8 through 14. Your age before September 1, 2019 determines your age level. Age groups are: 8U (3rd grade), 9U (4th grade), 10U (5th grade), 11U (6th grade), 12U (7th grade), 13/14U (8th grade). Example: If your child is in 4th grade and turned 10 before September 1, 2019, they must play up in the 10U (5th grade) group. Age is what the county goes by not grade. With the spring program, many times we have to combine age groups in order to form teams, there may be instances when 8u and 9u will be combined to form a full team to compete at the 9u level. Requests must be made during registration or by email to email@example.com.
Practices are generally twice per week and are usually held at Southern Middle, but may also be scheduled at other schools within the area, including Shady Side Elementary, Tracy’s Elementary, Lothian Elementary, and South County Rec Center. Games will be held on Sunday afternoons for all age groups. The county selects the gym teams will play in, and this can be anywhere throughout Anne Arundel county. Teams may play in the same gym every week, but in some cases may have to travel to other locations based on gym availability.

All Boys County Basketball participants purchase and retain their uniforms for future seasons. If you have purchased a uniform for a prior season and it still fits, you do not need to purchase one for the spring season. If your child requires a larger size, please be sure to select that before checking out. If you are not purchasing a uniform, please provide the number your child has so that we can order all new uniforms appropriately to avoid duplicate numbers. Those who played 14/15u in the winter, must have the full SCYA uniform, this is different from the reversible jersey worn this past winter.

After February 24thALL unpaid and late registrations will be assessed the $25 late fee.
All Coach’s (Including all Assistant Coaches and anyone over the age of 18 years old that will have any contact with the kids) will need to have a completed background check on file with Recreation and Parks in order to coach, no exceptions.
Coaches must attend or have attended the Anne Arundel Parks and Rec Coach’s Clinic within the past 2 seasons to be eligible to coach this coming year OR Hold a GOLD Member Status. The next Clinic will be offered this February/March. Please check the Parks and Recreation site for details.
